WE’RE BREAKING CYCLES OF VICTIMIZATION BY GUIDING SURVIVORS TOWARDS HOLISTIC WELL-BEING AND LASTING SELF SUFFICIENCY

Every day, millions of people are trafficked and exploited.

Very few are able to get out and stay out long-term.

BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY

WE ARE SUUBI OAK RESTORATION

A woman standing outdoors holding a white bowl with a blue dot pattern, wearing a red headscarf, a blue sleeveless top, and a floral skirt. There are people and a yellow sign in the background.

We walk alongside survivors of trafficking, and those that are vulnerable, providing the vital support they need to rebuild their lives and remain free from exploitation.

Through comprehensive business development and personalized case management, we empower these courageous women to achieve sustainable income, provide for their families, and build a future of lasting self-sufficiency and holistic well-being.

By Ugandans, for Uganda and Beyond

In 2012, the founder of Red Oak Hope sat at a table for two across from a 23-year-old Ugandan who had been tricked and trafficked to Asia. Six weeks later, the first Ugandan survivor was repatriated and Red Oak was born. In 2019, we began providing direct services in Kampala as a project under Red Oak Hope.

In 2025, we proudly transitioned to an independent local organization called Suubi Oak Restoration. We seek to become a leading force in combating human trafficking in Uganda and beyond.

But the numbers are just the beginning,
IT’S THE PEOPLE THAT REALY MATTER.

  • A woman carrying a small child on her back in a lush green jungle.

    Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth, a university graduate and former school teacher faced unexpected hardship after her marriage ended. She moved abroad to teach English but found herself vulnerable, working privately without proper documentation…

  • A woman wearing a red headscarf and colorful patterned shirt standing indoors near a wooden table, with another woman in the background wearing a headscarf, in a room with brown textured walls and a shelf with plates.

    Meet Abiba

Abiba’s hope for a better future led her to believe promises of work in a supermarket overseas. She traveled to Asia, excited about the opportunity. Instead she was tragically trafficked and forced into commercial sex work….

  • A woman and a young man riding a motorcycle with large bags of goods attached in a rural area, with cars and small buildings in the background.

    Meet Sharon

After graduating from Lab Technician school, Sharon was promised a good-paying job in India, but ended up in the hands of traffickers and was forced into commercial sex to pay a fraudulent “debt” of money her trafficker spent to bring her abroad….

I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I’m changing the things I cannot accept.
